Students with an F-1 or J-1 student visa with a Notre Dame-issued Form I-20 or DS-2019 must register with ISSA within 30 days of the program start date on their Form I-20 or DS-2019.
- Failure to complete this registration process within 30 days of the program start date will result in the immigration record being terminated and the student would need to depart the United States.
Instruction for Students
Upon arrival in the United States, go to ISSAlink.nd.edu and complete the F-1 or J-1 New Student Registration e-form.
| To access this process you will need to have your ND OKTA set up for use in the U.S. The best way to do this is to download the app, and set up your OKTA to be activated through the app BEFORE arriving in the U.S. |
To complete the registration form, you must have electronic copies of the following documents:

a copy of the biographical page of your passport

a copy of the F-1 or J-1 visa stamp in your passport (Canadian citizens exempt, no stamp required)
- your I-94 record (access it here by clicking "Get Most Recent I-94 and taking a screenshot)
- your I-20 or DS-2019

Note: F-2 and J-2 dependents do NOT need to complete the registration process. There records will be activated with the F-1/J-1 record.
