Getting Started

Even before new international students arrive on campus, our International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA) team is preparing to support a seamless transition to life at Notre Dame.

It is important that students recognize there are a multitude of resources available on campus to support them in their efforts to engage in community and thrive in their academic pursuits. While ISSA’s primary responsibility is to help students navigate a complicated immigration landscape, we also help connect students to the appropriate campus partners who manage the myriad of elements of the Notre Dame student experience.

As students prepare to begin their Notre Dame program, we recommend they review:

  • Pre-Arrival information (including how to apply for a visa)
  • Arrival information (including transportation to campus)
  • Orientation information (which varies for undergraduate and graduate students)
  • Parent and family information (for parents/family of undergraduate students)
