As executive director of International Student and Scholar Affairs, Leah Zimmer leads a team committed to our international student and scholar community, ensuring continuous compliance with U.S. visa and immigration laws governing their participation at Notre Dame and supporting their successful navigation of life in the U.S.
As a member of NDG's leadership team, she cultivates partnerships with several campus divisions to support the holistic engagement and celebration of the international community on campus. In May 2021, she was awarded the Dick and Peggy Notebaert Award for the significant impact her and her team have had on graduate student development at Notre Dame.
Before joining Notre Dame Global in August 2016, she served as director of an intensive English program in South Bend and director of operations at an NGO in Hebei, China. Since studying abroad in Winchester, England as an undergraduate, she has been committed to international education and intercultural engagement.
Zimmer has an M.A. in English from Indiana University South Bend, and a B.A. in English education from UW-Eau Claire.
