For more than 25 years, International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA) at the University of Notre Dame has paired international students with members of the local community, allowing participants to learn more about different cultures, traditions, and languages.
Today, the Family Friendship Program (FFP) fosters friendships and cultural understanding between undergraduate students from around the world and community members who represent a wide range of ages, professions, religions, ethnic backgrounds, and family compositions.
Participants are encouraged to meet at least once per month to take advantage of the many activities offered on campus as well as throughout the community. Birthdays, holidays, sporting and cultural events, or a simple family dinner—all these, and more—are activities that participants can enjoy together. There is no cost to participate in the program. ISSA also invites families and students to participate in fall programming on campus.
The program will kick-off with a reception on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.
The deadline for both applications is Friday, September 7, 2018.
