Hi my name is Marcelo, and I am a rising Senior majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Engineering Corporate Practice. I lived in Dillon hall but now I am part of the brand new community of Baumer Hall. I was born and lived all my life in Brazil but decided to go to college in the US. I choose to attend Notre Dame because I loved all the special characteristics, big and small, that make Notre Dame what it is. I really wanted, for example, to be part of tight community like the ones in residence halls here. The main activity I am involved in outside the classroom is Notre Dame Sailing. I had never stepped on a boat before joining but everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and willing to teach that I fell in love with the sport and the club. Everyone should stop by St Joes beach on campus and try it out. One of my favorite parts about being a Notre Dame student is being surrounded by so many incredible and motivated people. I feel that everyone here is excited to use their knowledge and skills to make the world a better place.

Favorite ND Moment

My best Notre Dame memory is being lifted 14 times in the stadium for touchdown pushups in my first Michigan game.

Advice for Incoming International Students

Get out of your room! Try new stuff out in one of the clubs, get to know people in you hall and take advantage of everything ND has to offer you. Even if you absolutely love playing video games in your computer, why not play them in you dorm's common room instead of your room? Who knows, someone might see you playing and also really like that game.
