Dasha Kudriavtseva

Majors: Computer Science in Arts & Letters
Clubs / Extracurricular Activities: The Observer Video Unit, WVFI, CS4Good

Hey! My name is Dasha Kudriavtseva and I am a rising sophomore planning on studying Computer Science (BACS) (currently also debating Math and Film majors, sorry mom). I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. When I was 16, I moved to the United States to finish up junior and senior years of high school. Most of my free time I spend fencing as a part of the Notre Dame Fencing Team. Besides fencing, I’m involved with the student-run newspaper the Observer, WVFI and CS4Good club. In my free time, I love watching Stand-up comedy, all different kinds of interviews and documentaries and spending time outside (though you would most likely find me on the second floor of the library). I’m super excited to be a part of the IA team and I hope to meet you all in the fall!

Favorite ND Moment

My favorite moment happened a few months ago when we won NCAA Fencing Championship. Always competing individually, I have never experienced such as sense of community anywhere else before. The Notre Dame community is something really special that our school has to offer and not only through the athletic side of it.

Advice for Incoming International Students

My biggest advice would be to push yourself out of your comfort zone and to put yourself out there! I have learned myself that being proactive is the best way to achieve anything in your life. Try as many things as you want, meet people, and through that expand your horizons. You don’t even know yet how much Notre Dame has to give you. Explore!
