Hi! I'm Cecilia, a Science-Business student with a minor in Computing Digital Technologies, class of 2024. I'll be calling Lewis Hall my home at Notre Dame, but I'm originally from Manila, Philippines. On campus, I'm involved in Asian American Association (AAA), Filipino-American Student Organization (FASO), MEDLIFE, and Student International Business Council (SIBC). Academically, I'm most interested in combining my passion for writing with science to help partake in the ongoing conversation combating fake news. During my free time, I enjoy cooking with friends, making lo-fi hip hop beats, and trying not to get last place in Mario Kart. I came to Notre Dame because it was the university most out of my comfort zone! I wanted to challenge myself to gain perspectives I never might've otherwise considered. If there's anything I learned from my first year here, its that a lot of the best memories you make stem from the most unpredictable places so don't be afraid to explore new things and talk to new people. Welcome home, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Advice for Incoming International Students

I actually spent my first semester with Notre Dame online while majority of the student body was in person, so I know how hard and daunting it can be to move to an environment where it seems like everyone is already settled and comfortable. My advice is to take life at your own pace and focus on your progress. You'll eventually look back and see just how far you have come.
