Food for Thought Dinners

A series of Residence Hall dinners introducing the perspectives and traditions of cultures represented by international students at The University of Notre Dame

Elitza Ranova, a Bulgarian undergraduate student, discovered a great way to teach faculty, staff, and students about her home country: Invite them to dinner!
She and some of her fellow Bulgarians prepared a meal featuring authentic Bulgarian cuisine and invited dinner companions to gather round the table and experience the flavor of a new culture.

You can share the perspectives and traditions of your own culture with a “Food for Thought” dinner in your residence hall.
International Student Services & Activities will help you plan a meal and cultural presentation that may include music, dance, discussion and more.
The dinners should take place within your residence hall; a hall sign-up that caps at about 50 participants, so that those preparing the food can plan the menu accordingly. (It is important that the students who will take primary responsibility for the food preparation have participated in food training offered though SAO!)
